Fifteen years after a child crimes probe was launched against SD54 Smithers Secondary School, the report is being forwarded to Premier Eby, BC's Education Minister, and both the Provincial and Federal Attorney Generals on July 4th, 2025. The report raised several criminal allegations while citing Smithers Secondary School with Discrimination, crossing the boundaries of Hate Crime Involvement as crossing the boundaries of Torture. The report will seek changes to the Criminal Code of Canada, making it a criminal offence for educators who interfere with a child's education.

Oversight
There is a need for civilian oversight of School District 54 given its inability to properly police their own while balancing their quote professionalism on the backs of their victims.

Class Action
A Class Action is now being considered, given that Smithers Secondary School engaged in forced segregation of the community's most vulnerable students while undermining their academic education. It is alleged that Smithers Secondary harmed the students placed in their care.
